An old-school coach in most respects, Ellis Johnson isn't easily impressed. But freshman outside linebacker Cedrick Cooper caught his attention with the glowing reports he received throughout the summer from strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald that Cooper was standing out despite being on campus for a short time.
