Adversity is strengthening Tulsa
Through the first few games of the college football season, Tulsa endured enough adversity for an entire year, including the nation's toughest non-conference schedule and losing players to injury or suspension. Now at the midway point of the season, the Hurricane's strength from overcoming those obstacles will serve them well.
"I think they are very resilient," Head Coach Bill Blankenship said of his players. "I've been very pleased with the fact that they don't panic. These are guys that can face adversity and look at it in the eye, spit in their hands and go to work.
"That's what I've been very pleased to see in the past and that's what encourages me through the rest of the season. I don't think anything is going to surprise them or shake them up. They are going to stay in there and fight."
However, there may be a flipside of that equation.
