InsideTulsaSports.com First-year coach Curtis Johnson is known as an offensive coach, but the Green Wave offense was the Tulane's biggest shortcoming in its season-opening loss to Rutgers.
Johnson's focus going into this week's Conference USA opener at Tulsa is to get the offense up to speed.
Tulane couldn't run the ball at all against the Scarlet Knights and quickly became one dimensional. Quarterback Ryan Griffin accumulated yards, but not enough points in the 24-12 setback.
An experienced line had trouble blocking and avoiding penalties. The Green Wave also played from behind.
