TU faces Nicholls State

Tulsa welcomes Nicholls State to H.A. Chapman Stadium on Saturday for a 6 pm contest, which will mark the return of former Golden Hurricane offensive coordinator Charlie Stubbs, who is now the head coach at Nicholls.

"I followed Coach Stubbs' career (at TU) very closely because I believe him to be one of the best offensive minds out there," said Tulsa Head Coach Bill Blankenship. "I thought he was very creative in how he used tight ends and formations and match-ups. You see the same thing happening (at Nicholls State). He's very, very good with the screen game.

"They're really an interesting mix (on offense). They have what some people might call a Wildcat-style quarterback -- LaQuinton Caston (usually a wide receiver). And then they've got the traditional quarterback who is their returning starter -- Landry Klann. He's got a big target in (tight end Nick Scelfo)."
