Tulsa goes on the road this week to face C-USA foe UAB. The Blazers are 0-3 after a tough non-conference state, which included two ranked opponents, but they have high expectations in conference play.

Playing a strong non-conference schedule is supposed to make a football team better and prepare it for conference play. If that really is the case then it's mission accomplished for UAB.

Whether it's enough to accomplish what first-year coach Garrick McGee calls his club's main mission, winning the conference title, remains to be seen.
