Game Day: Tulsa @ SMU

Tulsa plays its final regular season contest of the season at SMU, which happens to be the location of the Hurricane's last conference road loss. TU has already wrapped up a spot in the C-USA Championship game but still has a lot to play for.

"SMU was the site of our last conference (road) loss. SMU has not been an easy place for us to play," said Tulsa Head Coach Bill Blankenship. "Our seniors know the history of that. The fun part is, I want for these players to get the opportunity to do something no one else has done -- run the table (in league play). If you can run the table and then win the conference championship, that's not been done before."

Tulsa is on the verge of tying the best 21-game conference record in C-USA history. Southern Miss was 20-1 in 1998-2000. A win at SMU would put TU at 20-1 in its last 21.

"It's another piece of what I'm going to tell our team," said Blankenship. "I'm looking for all kinds of reasons to keep us going this week. I do think it matters to players and coaches -- to do something that other people haven't done. That's always a great motivation."

The Golden Hurricane also has a chance to win 12 games this season, and that possibility only exists if TU takes care of business at SMU -- a team that is fighting for bowl eligibility.
