TU Football: Winter Team Report

Spring football practice is right around the corner, and the University of Tulsa looks to build off of a stellar 2012 campaign and a strong 2013 recruiting class.

Tulsa wanted to shore up its defense and add depth along the offensive line with this year's recruiting class, and Coach Bill Blankenship believes he has done exactly that.

The Golden Hurricane signed 21 high school seniors on signing day, including three offensive linemen, three defensive tackles, three defensive ends, three linebackers and four defensive backs. Tulsa secured commitments from nine players who had offers from Big 12, Big 10, Southeastern or Pac-12 conference schools, including defensive end Dalton Rodriguez, cornerback Will Barrow and linebacker Devin Rolan.

"We were able to get a little bigger, a little faster," Blankenship said. "I think we were able to build some depth on the defensive line, which we desperately needed to have coming into this season.
