Bruins press on under smoke filled skies
Under a smoke filled sky the Bruins practiced Wednesday and because of the air quality the practice was slower than usual, which is understanding. A fire engine with some LAFD personnel showed up on campus wanting to see a little football, but practice was over.
The men of the LAFD talked with UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell and the Bruin coach was very impressive with these men as he thanked them for their hard work.
The conditions on Spaulding were a bit eerie, but the players pressed on. After all this is football.
Dorrell was happy with what he saw under the conditions.
Dorrell: "We had a good practice. We are trying to get some other quarterbacks ready just in case with Patrick Cowan. With Pat we did not want him to practice. I did want him to practice today to get more rest time. He could of practiced, but I chose not to have that happen just give him more rest. He did a lot of reps yesterday we pulled them back at the end of yesterday's practice when he started to get a little bit tight on him so we decided to give him another day of rest and he will come out and do some stuff tomorrow.
