I think we must have the seperation and our founders believed in that IMO, but let me clarify the issue and say this.
We want selected seperation of church from state, but not the creeping elimination of church and religion from that state, as he believes we have now. If seperation means we must elevate the state above our moral ideals or replace them with some state mandated ideolology instead, that is not our traditional american model. The "bully" state should not inject its ideals and its contrived morals over and above those handed to us from God. In God we trust. IMO.
