Another road win for Tulsa

AN DIEGO (AP) D'Andre Wright scored 14 points off the bench, Rashad Smith and James Woodard added 12 apiece, and Tulsa broke open the game after halftime en route to a 63-51 victory over San Diego on Friday night.

Wright, a freshman, was 5 of 10 from the floor and added 11 rebounds for the Golden Hurricane (3-0), who led just 25-24 after a Zeldric King 3-pointer just before halftime. Tulsa then steadily increased the margin after the break, leading by as many as 13 in the second half.

The Golden Hurricane outrebounded San Diego 39-26, helping them overcome 21 turnovers.

Johnny Dee scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and Christopher Anderson added 11 points and a career-high seven steals for the Toreros (2-2). Dee was 7 of 15 from the floor.

The game, part of the NUCDF Basketball Challenge, was the first-ever meeting between the schools.
