3-star WR Sam Crawford commits to Tulsa

Tulsa picked up a gem on Thursday night when Rockwall (TX) wide receiver Sam Crawford committed to the Golden Hurricane. TU coaches were in strong pursuit this week and the effort paid off.

A 3-star prospect, Crawford held over 20 scholarship offers and had recently taken official visits to Air Force and Tulane. His other offers included South Florida, Navy, Colorado State, Fresno State, Army, Nevada, East Carolina, UConn, and many others.

As a senior this season, the 6-foot-1 and 193 pound receiver had 72 catches for 1,369 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 19 yards per reception. He also ran the ball 32 times for 261 yards and four scores, with an average of 8.2 yards per carry. He was named District 11-6A's offensive player of the year.

Crawford was just as impressive in his junior year, grabbing 77 catches for 1,459 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also had 23 carries for 263 yards and three more scores.

Tulsa currently has 15 commitments in the 2017 recruiting class and is looking to add about eight or so more. Another round of official visitors will be coming to the TU campus this weekend, as discussed in Hurricane Alley. Updates on Hurricane recruiting targets are being continuously posted in Hurricane Alley as they happen.
