Decision time for TU basketball recruits

For the last month, our staff has been following the recruitment of Tulsa's top basketball targets, bringing TU fans the latest information on these student-athletes and their thoughts on the University of Tulsa. With one making an official visit to the Golden Hurricane campus last weekend and two more in town yesterday, decision time is nearing and will have a big impact on Tulsa's program.
Seminole State College forward Darold Crow made his official visit to Tulsa last weekend and is expected to make a decision soon. Crow has received offers from Houston, San Jose State, Wichita State, Arkansas State and Tulsa, with Tennessee trying to set a visit this weekend. As of yesterday, that visit had not been confirmed.

"Darold should make a decision by Sunday," said Seminole Head Coach Dr. Thomas Mills.
Tulsa currently has two visitors in town – Ray Reese of Los Angeles (CA) Westchester and Cody Stoneburner of Shelbyville (MO) North Shelby.
After performing well with his AAU team in the Kingwood Classic late last month, Reese told us that Tulsa had been his leader all along, and it appears he will become a Golden Hurricane.
"Not much has changed," Reese said. "I haven't scheduled any more trips, and it's pretty much been Tulsa all along. They are going to have some other recruits in that same weekend, one that has signed and another that they are recruiting."
The "one that has signed" is Bartlesville (OK) power forward Sam Mitchell, who appears to be making his official visit to Tulsa this weekend as well.
Cody Stoneburner is another major recruiting target and will also be deciding soon, as his father explained to our staff last week. The Missouri small-school Player of the Year has received offers from the likes of Nebraska, West Virginia, Evansville, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and many more.
"Cody is going to make his decision after he completes his visit to Tulsa this weekend," Okey Stoneburner explained. "Cody had a good visit to Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but I think if he decides to play at the Division I level, then Tulsa will be the school. If he decides to stay close to home and play Division II, then it will be Quincy."
