Jerell Norton visiting Tulsa soon

Jerell Norton, a 6-foot and 180-pound athlete from Cedar Hill (TX) High School, committed to the University of Tulsa this summer, but is still being heavily recruited by other schools, including Arkansas, where he made an unofficial visit last weekend. Although Norton has interest in a number of schools, he told the THA staff that he's still committed to Tulsa and will visit the TU campus soon.
"I did visit Arkansas this past weekend," stated Norton. "I had a great time, and it was a really good experience. The defensive coaches there want me to play cornerback for them, and the offensive coaches want me as a quarterback and wide receiver."

"Even though I visited Arkansas and still am considering Oklahoma State, who has also offered, I'm committed to Tulsa. I'm taking my official visit there this weekend and hope everything goes well. I also hope my parents are able to make the trip."
"Tulsa is really a program on the rise," Norton added. "They return most of their team next year and just need a few players to be really good. They are an up-and-coming team. Winning a conference championship and going to a bowl game will really boost their confidence for next season."
Norton completed a stellar senior season and was rewarded by being named his district's MVP. He also received District Player of the Week honors seven times.
As a wide receiver, Norton caught 46 passes for 782 yards and seven touchdowns. At the quarterback position, he rushed for 987 yards on 168 carries and 16 touchdowns and passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns, completing 21-of-53 passes. On defense, he had two interceptions.
Tulsa is looking for Norton to play on the offensive side of the ball.
"I guess it really doesn't matter what position I play as long as we win," concluded Norton. "Tulsa is looking at me for the wide receiver position and possibly some quarterback. If I had my preference, I think I like the offensive side."
Brandon Washington, also a Tulsa commit and teammate of Norton, will be visiting Tulsa this weekend as well.
