Jordan, Uzoh named All-Conference

University of Tulsa juniors Jerome Jordan and Ben Uzoh were both named to Conference USA All-Conference Teams, as announced by the league office today. Jordan received first-team recognition, while Uzoh landed on the second-team. Both players were also named to the NABC All-District Team last week.
Players from five different schools are represented on the 2009 All-Conference USA Men's Basketball first-team. Seniors Jermaine Taylor of UCF and Stefon Jackson of UTEP, two of the most prolific scorers in Conference USA history, were selected to the first-team in a vote by the C-USA head coaches and media members. They were joined by Jerome Jordan, Houston junior guard Aubrey Coleman and Memphis freshman guard Tyreke Evans.

Jordan is a four-time C-USA Player of the Week, averaging 14.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.52 blocks per game this season. The seven-footer from Kingston, Jamaica, leads the league and ranks among the Top 20 in the nation with a .598 field goal percentage.
A pair of Memphis Tigers and a pair of UAB Blazers join Uzoh on the second team. Memphis seniors Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier have compiled a four-year career record of 132-13. UAB seniors Paul Delaney III and Robert Vaden were first-team selections in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Uzoh repeats his C-USA second-team honor as TU's leading scorer this season.
Uzoh averages 14.4 points and leads the Hurricane in assists with 3.6 per game and steals with an average of 1.6 per game. He has also grabbed 4.8 rebounds while playing 36 minutes per game.
Uzoh became just the third player in school history to surpass the career plateaus for 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals. This season Uzoh has led Tulsa in scoring 10 times, assists 22 times and steals 15 times. He has also scored 20+ points in six games this year.
Five different schools were also represented on the all-conference third team. These 15 All-Conference players will be in action at this week's C-USA Men's Basketball Championship, March 11-14 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
