Two Louisiana Tech transfers have reunited with their former coach, Eric Konkol, at Tulsa. Guards Cobe Williams and Keaston Willis recently entered the transfer portal and quickly committed to the Golden Hurricane.

Williams was the Bulldogs leading scorer this season, and Willis was the team's third-leading scorer. Both were recruited to Louisiana Tech by Konkol, who just completed his first season at TU.

A big factor for Willis in picking Tulsa was, of course, Coach Konkol, as well as joining his teammate.

"Definitely Konkol and the rest of the staff -- the one year I played with them at LA Tech was the best experience I’ve had. Not only with them but playing basketball as well," said Willis. "I feel that year was the best basketball I’ve played all while winning at a very high level. I completely trust Konkol and the staff.

"With me and Cobe (Williams) coming, we just want to flip this thing around and win at a national level. I know the coaches are wanting the same."

Williams, a 6-foot combo guard from Dallas, played in 23 games this season with 21 starts, averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He shot 34.4 percent from three and 79.8 percent from the free-throw line, and he was on the C-USA All-Defensive Team for the past two seasons.

Willis started 31 of 32 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 12.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The 6-3 wing from Sulphur Springs, Texas, connected on 37.6 percent of his three-point attempts and shot 78.0 percent from the line.

"I have deep range but can also put it on the floor to handle it and create my own shot," said Willis. "I have a high IQ and feel for the game. Also just playing the right way too."

Willis hasn't been on the Tulsa campus since attending a team camp in high school, but he remembers enjoying his time at TU.
