Tulsa hosted a slew of high school talent earlier this week during Monday’s Philip Montgomery Elite Camp, and TU also invited Trinity Valley Community College receiver Carl Chester.

The 6-foot-4 and 195-pounder was impressive during the workout and earned an offer after camp. Two days later, Chester committed to the Golden Hurricane.

"I’ve always known about Tulsa Football and was honored to be invited to the campus. Once on campus, I wanted to be a part of the team," he told Inside Tulsa Sports. "The professionalism of the coaches, as well as knowing more about the education possibilities, was a plus for me. I can’t wait to get to work."

Chester only got to see a small portion of the Tulsa campus, but still came away impressed.

"I really liked the campus as I walked around to get to the field," he explained. "And the football facilities as I was walking through were very nice. I liked it very much."

As a freshman at TVCC this past season, Chester caught 9 passes for 104 yards and one touchdown in nine games.

"I would say my strengths are getting separation from defenders and my trust in my hands, as well as high-pointing the ball," he described. "Me being 6-foot-4 is a huge advantage."
