Brown commits to Tulsa

On Friday, Katy (Texas) cornerback Isaiah Brown told Inside Tulsa Sports that he had just committed to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Brown talked about his recruiting process and his senior football season.
"Everything just felt right, and I wanted to be part of the Golden Hurricane family," he said. "Tulsa is a great school. The academics, the sports program, everything."

The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder chose TU over offers from New Mexico and Southeastern Louisiana, and he was also hearing from several other college programs.
"I'm being recruited by Boise State, West Virginia, San Jose State, Northwestern, Rice, UTSA, and Arizona State," he said last month. "Most important when choosing a school is academics first, a winning program and playing early."
As a junior last season, Brown made 47 tackles, 11 pass breakups, three interceptions, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He listed his strengths as "speed, ability to read plays, confidence and foot quickness."
"I'm able to stay with a receiver down field," he added.
Brown helped Katy to a 12-1 season last year, and the Tigers are off to a 2-0 start in 2012. Katy dominated Klein 48-7 in week one and then beat Alief Taylor 23-9 last weekend. Brown has 12 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble in his first two games as a senior. Against Alief Taylor, he took an interception back for a score.
"We're looking great," Brown said of his squad. "Of course, we're looking forward to adding another state title to our program."
Brown said his lead recruiter at Tulsa is defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux, and he hopes to make it to the Hurricane's game against Fresno State.
Brown is the 11th commitment for Tulsa in the class of 2013, and the second from the state of Texas. Keevan Lucas, a wide receiver from Abilene, Texas, committed to TU in June.
