The University of Tulsa will expand beer sales for the upcoming football season to include the general stadium seating area, a measure approved by the University's Board of Trustees. Since 2008, beer has been sold in the Suite and Club areas, as well as outside the stadium gates.

Tulsa will also adopt a No Re-entry policy, falling in line with no re-entry policies that have been implemented at most college stadiums, including state schools Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and 10 American Athletic Conference institutions.

Tulsa joins a growing list of college athletic departments that have added or expanded in-stadium alcohol sales, including recently announced schools Marshall, Ohio State, Penn State and Pittsburgh.

"The addition of beer sales inside the stadium will add another element to our game day fan experience and be an additional revenue source for our department," said Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg. "The University has studied the idea for more than a year and we have seen from our peers around the country that when done responsibly, beer sales can be a positive experience.

"We have made beer sales available in our club area and suites for the past eight years, and felt that now is the right time for us to expand sales to the entire stadium.”

Security measures will be increased and Sodexo, the University's concessions vendor, will provide appropriate training to its staff members.
