What many predicted would be a pedestrian home victory turned into an overtime nail biter. Not only did the Golden Hurricane come away with come-from-behind victory over Cincinnati, several players also continued to solidify their standing in the record books.

Some of the highlights included Dane Evans surpassing the 3,000-yard passing mark for a school record third time, Keevan Lucas surpassing the 1,000-yard passing mark for the second time, and James Flanders surpassing the 2,000-yard career rushing mark and breaking Tarrion Adams’ single-season rushing record.

Here’s a detailed look at what happened last weekend and how the season and career charts are shaping up with just the bowl game remaining:

QB DANE EVANS

• Senior quarterback Dane Evans finished the game with 305 yards passing and three touchdowns. It was his 15th career 300-yard passing game, which matches Paul Smith (2003-07) for first on Tulsa’s all-time chart.

• Evans now has 79 career touchdown passes and trails G.J. Kinne (2009-11) by two and Smith by four for the most in school history.

• Evans surpassed the 3,000-yard passing mark for the season to become the first Tulsa quarterback with three 3,000-yard seasons. He now has 3,044 yards this season, which is the eighth best on Tulsa’s season chart.

• Evans finished with 310 yards of total offense and now has 2,993 this season. He needs seven yards to join Kinne as one of two Tulsa quarterback with three 3,000-yard seasons. Evans also needs 176 yards to tie Smith for the career total offense record.

• Evans now has a career high 27 touchdown passes this season and is seventh on Tulsa’s season chart.

• Evans has been responsible for 31 touchdowns this season, which is tied for fifth on Tulsa’s season chart.

• In AAC play, Evans has 792 career completions and needs eight completions to become the first AAC quarterback to reach the 800-completion mark.

• Evans is now #45 on the NCAA all-time passing charts. He has moved past Jordan Palmer (UTEP/2003-06), Eric Zeier (Georgia/1991-94), Curtis Painter (Purdue/2005-08), Todd Reesing (Kansas/2006-09), Peyton Manning (Tennessee/1994-97), Chris Leak (Florida/2003-06), Derek Anderson (Oregon State/2001-04), Tim Lester (Western Michigan/1996-99), Connor Halliday (Washington State/2011-14), Tim Hiller (Western Michigan/2005-09), and Max Hall (BYU/2007-09). Evans needs 152 yards to move into the Top 40.

WR KEEVAN LUCAS

• Senior receiver Keevan Lucas finished the game with eight receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown. He now has 3,178 career receiving yards and needs 31 yards to tie Keyarris Garrett (2011-15) for third, 122 yards to tie Dan Bitson (1987-91) for second, and 165 yards to tie Howard Twilley (1963-65) for the school record.

• Lucas now has 11 career 100-yard receiving games and is tied with Josh Atkinson (2013-pres.) and Damaris Johnson (2008-10) for fourth on Tulsa’s all-time chart.

• Lucas has 231 career receptions and trails school record holder Twilley by 30 receptions.

• Lucas also has 29 career receiving touchdowns and is tied with Bitson for third on Tulsa’s all-time chart. He needs three touchdowns to tie Twilley and Steve Largent (1973-75) for the school record.

• Lucas now has 1,108 receiving yards this season and has become the fourth TU receiver to record multiple 1,000-yard seasons.

• In AAC play, Lucas now has 201 career receptions and has become the third AAC receiver to hit the 200-reception mark.

RB JAMES FLANDERS

• Senior running back James Flanders finished the game with 197 rushing yards. He now has a new school record 1,529 rushing yards on the season. Tarrion Adams previously held the record with 1,523 yards in 2008.

• Flanders now has 2,077 career rushing yards and has become the 14th Tulsa player to hit the 2,000-yard mark.

• Flanders also has 17 rushing touchdowns this season, which is fourth most on Tulsa’s season chart.

RB D’ANGELO BREWER

• Junior running back D’Angelo Brewer finished the game with 99 rushing yards. He now has 1,330 rushing yards this season and has moved past Chris Hughley (1991) and Trey Watts (2013) into fifth place on Tulsa’s season chart.

• Brewer now has 2,196 career rushing yards and has surpassed Ken Lacy (1979-82) for ninth on Tulsa’s career chart.

FLANDERS / BREWER

• Flanders and Brewer have a combined 2,859 rushing yards this season. Already the most combined rushing yardage in school history, they need 141 yards in the bowl game to become the first Tulsa pair to combine for 3,000 yards in a season.

• Flanders and Brewer are also the third pair of Tulsa teammates to have 2,000-plus yards rushing at the same time. The other duos are Michael Gunter and Ken Lacy, and Ja’Terian Douglas and Trey Watts.

• While playing together, Flanders and Brewer have a combined 4,367 rushing yards and trail Michael Gunter and Ken Lacy (1980-82) by 21 yards for second most in Tulsa history.

EVANS / FLANDERS / BREWER / LUCAS / ATKINSON

• These five Tulsa players are on the verge of setting a new record as the only team in NCAA history to have one 3,000-yard passer (Evans), two 1,000-yard rushers (Flanders and Brewer), and two 1,000-yard receivers (Lucas and Atkinson) in the same season.

• For this to happen, Atkinson needs 73 receiving yards in the bowl game.

PK REDFORD JONES

• Jones scored 10 points and now has 117 points on the season, which is third best in Tulsa history for all players and a new school record for kickers.

• With two field goals, Jones now has 19 on the season and is tied for third on Tulsa’s season chart. He needs one to match James Anderson (1996) for second and two to tie Stu Crum (1982) for the school record.

• Jones also has 36 career field goals and has moved past Eric Lange (1991-92) into seventh on Tulsa’s all-time chart.

JONES / FLANDERS

• Jones and Flanders have become the second Tulsa duo to score 100-plus points in the same season. The only other players to accomplish this feat were Jones and Zack Langer who did so last season.

TRENT MARTIN

• Senior linebacker Trent Martin had 10 tackles and now has 328 for his career. He has surpassed Dennis Byrd (1985-88) and Nick Bunting (2003-06) to move into a tie for 11th with Muadianvita Kazadi (1993-96) on Tulsa’s all-time chart.

TEAM

• Tulsa now has 3,141 rushing yards on the season (ranked ninth on the school’s all-time chart) and has reached the 3,000-yard mark for the 10th time in school history.

• Tulsa won its ninth game of the season and has now won nine or more games for the 17th time in school history.

• Tulsa has scored 497 points this season, which is the seventh most in school history.

• Tulsa finished the game with 610 total yards. Tulsa has gained 600-plus yards three times this year and six times under head coach Philip Montgomery.

• Tulsa has also scored 40-plus points in nine games this season and 16 times in 25 games under Montgomery.
