Tulsa Football: Rankings of interest

After Tulsa hung 667 total yards and 66 points on Louisiana last weekend, the Hurricane moved up the national rankings for production on offense. TU currently ranks 5th nationally in rushing at 334 yards per game and 14th nationally in total offense at 549.5 yards per game. TU is also 19th nationally in scoring with 45 points per contest.

Tulsa running back D'Angelo Brewer is 13th in the nation for rushing yards per game at 147.5 and his backup, Corey Taylor, is 48th with 89.5 yards per game. Brewer is 3rd for yards per game in the American Athletic Conference and Taylor is 6th. True freshman Shamari Brooks is 16th in the AAC at 53.5 yards per game.

Hurricane wide receiver Keenen Johnson is tied for 35th nationally with 13 total receptions. He and Justin Hobbs are both in the Top 60 nationally for receptions per game. Hobbs is 4th in the AAC for receiving yards per game at 87, while Johnson is 11th with 66 yards per contest.

Tulsa quarterback Chad President is 65th nationally in passing yards per game with 210.5 and 50th nationally at 7.7 yards per attempt. In the AAC, he sits 2nd in yards per attempt and 5th in yards per game. He is also 4th in completion percentage at 58.2 percent.

Baylor transfer Thomas Bennett, who has taken over punting duties at Tulsa, is ranked 23rd nationally with an average of 44.78 yards per punt -- that also puts him No. 1 in the American Athletic Conference.

Safety Manny Bunch is leading the Tulsa defense in tackles and ranks 28th nationally in tackles per game and 30th nationally in total tackles. He is tied for 3rd in the AAC in both categories.
