Montgomery (TX) Lake Creek quarterback Eli Morcos turned a solid camp performance at Tulsa into a scholarship offer, and 10 days later, he was announcing his college decision.

The 3-star prospect attended a Kevin Wilson Football Camp on the Tulsa campus on June 14. After the camp, he visited with Wilson and QB coach Corey Dennis and received a scholarship offer, quickly setting an official visit to TU for June 21.

“It was really great,” Morcos said of the camp. “I love Coach Dennis, Wilson, Spurrier and the rest of the staff. The campus and facilities were really nice as well.”

Morcos took an official visit to UTEP on June 19 and then hit the Tulsa campus on Friday. Two days later, he committed to the Golden Hurricane.

“The visit was great,” he told Inside Tulsa Sports on Sunday afternoon. “I really enjoyed the staff and the city of Tulsa. Just getting to be around Coach Dennis and the staff really opened my eyes to what it means to be a competitor, and I truly believe that they will develop me and help me grow into an NFL caliber quarterback.

“I had been praying for a while about this decision, and I think God really put it on my heart that I should be in Tulsa, and I think God can use me as a light to those around me, and I can spread his love to the world through this program.”

Morcos said his goal is to get to the NFL after college.

“Coach Dennis and Wilson have put a bunch of QBs in the NFL,” he said.

The 6-foot-2 and 205-pound signal-caller was also impressed by the TU campus and football facilities.

“They were great. The campus is super clean and really pretty. It’s not super big, and it’s a low-key environment which is nice,” he explained. “The dorms and apartments were nice as well. The facilities were great as expected, the locker room was nice, and I love the stadium.”
